The Great NY Climate Week 2025 Guide
Welcome to the Big Apple! We're here to help you meet people IRL, enjoy the sights and sounds of our beautiful city, and plan for the biggest climate event of the year 🗽
Welcome to the Big Apple for Climate Week NYC
NY Climate Week is back! Have no fear - federal shenanigans aside, the climate action is in full swing at the local level. NY Climate Week is the largest event of its kind in the world, bringing together over 100,000 startups, investors, corporate leaders, scientists, policymakers, activists, and stakeholders for seven shambolic days of panels, plenaries, conferences, happy hours, and parties.
And it’s as big as ever. For people outside the city, there was a question of whether it would even happen this year - but we’ve had no doubt, and we’ve gathered hundreds of public events. Sometimes big gatherings can feel like all talk and, well, too much hot air. But at a time when the very word “climate” is actively under attack and green-hushing is on the rise, there’s a real power to gathering under the climate banner.
Politics requires visibility. Movements require community. And so we take heart that there are more culture events than ever this year, from Broadway to Hollywood to Late Night. We’re talking movies, comedy, music. Bring your non-climate friends. DER by day, dance by night. And there’s still plenty of business getting done. The ROI of reliable, renewable energy and sustainable supply chains is more clear than ever. Scientists and entrepreneurs are still working on incredible new technologies, and finance and insurance are adapting to new physical realities.
The most important thing to know about NY Climate Week is that it’s not just one big conference. Think of it more as a coral reef, providing the structure for hundreds of independently organized events to swim and thrive. There are big fish, small ones, and dazzlingly weird ones, and never enough time to see them all. You’re just as likely to learn something new or get your next role at a morning jog or karaoke night as at a panel session, so mix it up! Find a balance, be curious, and do your best to pay it forward.
At Climate Tech Cities and Streetlife Ventures, we support climate founders, funders, and the broader community - this is our guide to help you sift through the noise and choose your own adventure. While the NY Climate Week official website is a good starting point, there are literally hundreds of events that never get listed there. Our guide is focused on in-person events in New York that you can attend - we’re not listing anything online as you’ll be busy enough. There’s a lot going on in parallel, but we think you should make the most of being here, meeting people IRL, and enjoying the sights and sounds of New York.
There are 415 events and a total of 23,144 words (!) - we’ve categorized all of them across 25 themes for 2025 and picked our favorites. We also have a “Top Hits” list of where we’ll be and what we like! Given the wide breadth and depth of the conversations to be had and friends to be made, we’ll have a rolling list leading up to the big week itself.

And last but not least, we are thrilled to continue to showcase the artistic talents of one of our favorite New Yorkers, Nicole Kelner, throughout our guide below! Nicole is the founder of Arts and Climate Change, an organization that uses art as a tool for climate communication. She creates educational content for all ages and recently published a coloring book about clean energy called Electrify Everything and a book on the Quietest Places in New York City (in case you need a respite!). Her clients include the US Department of Energy, Harvard, The Guardian, and Sunrun, and you can follow her work on her Website, Instagram, Substack, and more. Nicole uses watercolors to help visualize the world we want to live in, and has been kind enough to create a piece highlighting the New York climate ecosystem for all of you joining us for the special week!
We hope these streets will make you feel brand new and the big lights will inspire you! We look forward to seeing you! 🍎
Cheers,
Alec Turnbull and Sonam Velani

About Climate Week
The Climate Group started Climate Week in 2009 to coincide with the UN General Assembly, when world leaders unite to shut down traffic in midtown Manhattan. It has always overlapped with UNGA as a clear opportunity to make climate front-and-center of the international agenda. In the years since, NY Climate Week has grown into a distributed conference and hub for everyone working in climate.
