NY Climate Tech: September 19 - September 25
Climate Week! Thousands of people, hundreds of events, dozens of group texts, and a few suggestions to get you going.
It’s here! Welcome to NY Climate Week. Here’s our (pretty mainstream) set of recommendations: you won’t go wrong!
On Tuesday, ease into the week with the NY Climate Tech x WeWork Coworking Day at Brooklyn Navy Yard: take the ferry over to WeWork’s beautiful new building, dial into remote sessions or calls, and have a casual working day with your Climate Tech colleagues. If you’re ready for something more active, check out the Denmark in New York Citizen Sustainability Summit, and head to Chelsea Market for a spread of climate-friendly food startups. Wrap up the day with a livestream of the Women and Climate Celebration with an all-women panel lineup.
On Wednesday, head to the Nest Summit Campus, one of the anchoring events for Climate Week. Afterwards, check out Climate Tech Cocktails starting at 9pm, with a free open bar for the first 250 attendees — sounds like it’ll be quite a party. On Thursday, head back to Nest or go to the HolonIQ Global Impact Summit with a stellar roster of speakers or go chat finance at the Sustainable Investment Forum. Finally, on Friday head to Marketplace of the Future for an all-day set of exhibits, speakers, networking, and good people.
Of course, there’s *tons* more going on this week. Scroll down for some exhaustive Google Docs as well as our day-by-day listing of events. There’s always more out there!
Cheers,
Alec and Sonam

Hot Take: Go Meet People IRL!
Thanks to everyone who came to the NY Climate Tech x Climatebase Meetup to kick off Climate Week! We had an amazing turnout and can’t wait to see you out and about across New York City.
And for the curious: Climate Week NYC has taken place in the Big Apple since 2009. Occurring alongside the UN General Assembly, it brings together international leaders from business, government and civil society to showcase global climate action. Over the years, the Opening Ceremony has included everyone from (now) King Charles III to New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to our very own NY Governor Kathy Hochul.
Hob-nob with the rich and famous, #TakeTheTrain, #TakeTheBus, #TakeTheCitibike across town (trust us, you do NOT want to sit in midtown traffic for hours), and enjoy all the creative events on every topic under the sun. We can’t wait to show you some NYC love and share how our climate policy, technology, and justice communities are coming together to achieve Climate Action in our streets and neighborhoods!

We're excited to grow the Climate Tech community in cities across the globe - starting right here in our hometown of New York! 🗽 What started as an 8-person mid-pandemic outdoor dinner has since morphed into a 2,500+ strong and ever-growing group of rockstars trying to change the world. We're looking for volunteers to help us expand our programming into a full roster of community-wide meetups, subject-specific events, mentorship programs, site visits, and more. We aim to be a community resource - built for and by our community. Share your thoughts and we look forward to working with you!
