Urban Future Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering and SecondMuse are pioneering the GROW + TOGETHER Accelerator to merge the innovative forces of hardtech clean energy startups with the manufacturing industry in the Northeast US. Supported by an EPIC award funded by the DOE Office of Technology Transitions, this model accelerates hardtech startup integration into existing supply chains, overcoming common barriers to market penetration faced by innovative products.

🧵 Threads of Sustainability: Panel and Showcase

Asia Society presents Threads of Sustainability: Fashion, Ethics and the Environment, in collaboration with Fempowerment Foundation. Join us for an evening of fashion as food for thought, featuring a lively and insightful panel discussion on Indian fashion, sustainability and Indian women's roles within India's rich culture of textiles and design. Foregrounding the local traditions and artisans behind global fashion, the evening features a panel with speakers from the fashion industry with a focus on ethical and slow fashion, alongside a showcase of artisanal textiles and beading. Learn about the exquisitely-crafted textiles on display and listen to the stories of the women who crafted them, all while gaining a deeper understanding of global fashion's interaction with sustainability and the environment, as well as South Asian history and tradition. Watch a fashion show of intentional Indian fabrics in a contemporary context, including designs from Marchesa, Anna Sui, Krishna Mehta, Gingerblu and Iro Iro among others. Enjoy a brief classical Indian performance after the program.

Hosted by the Professional Staff Congress of CUNY, the Center for the Humanities, and the Ecocriticism Working Group on Thursday, September 5th, 6:30 pm at the CUNY Graduate Center, join faculty, students, staff, environmental organizations, community leaders, and union members for a discussion with an array of people working to create a healthy, sustainable, and fossil-free future, both at CUNY and across the nation. We will discuss how CUNY can be the leader in the green energy transition by demanding the state and NYPA take action now.
