NextEra Energy Investments is holding a seed investment competition for pre-Series A companies focused on cybersecurity, data & AI, decarbonization and/or energy transition. Up to 10 winners can be selected to receive up to $500,000 in seed capital investment.

Streetlife Ventures' friends at Bedrock, Bosch, Cisco and KODE Labs have launched the Urban Tech Xchange (UTX) in Detroit, a physical ecosystem for startups to pilot and scale projects in a real-world environment. Using Bedrock's 19M sf of real estate and a unified energy management system, UTX seeks startups that tackle modern citiesβ biggest challenges - such as new building, energy, mobility, waste, and water tech.
π $10M Empire Technology Prize (Due Mar. 24)
The Clean Fight and RMI are excited to open up applications for the $10M Empire Technology Prize, supported by NYSERDA and Wells Fargo. The Prize is focused on developing and demonstrating innovative solutions that make it easier for building owners across the economic spectrum to decarbonize the heating load of New Yorkβs tall buildings.

The session also offers the opportunity to become a facilitator yourself and help raise awareness on the topic!
π Energy Efficiency: Unlocking Climate Action in Schools

Join the NYCPS Office of Energy and Sustainability and Solar One for a day of hands-on activities and training for teachers to integrate climate action and energy efficiency into their coursework. Teachers will receive a materials toolkit and up to 5 hours of professional learning credits. The program is free and covers costs through funding from the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS). Solar One's curriculum connects solar installations on school buildings to renewable energy and sustainability education.

Participate in a guided tour of the show, and learn more about bringing environmental justice posters back into the classroom with our Posters in Protest Educator Guide. Guests will then participate in a hands-on artmaking workshop with MFTA Master Teaching Artist Joy Suarez, focusing on sustainability, creative reuse, and activism. Educators will leave with classroom-ready materials and new ideas and strategies for integrating posters and sustainable artmaking into their curricula. Participants will also learn more about educational programming and warehouse shopping at Materials for the Arts. This professional development workshop is geared towards K-12 teachers.
