🪨 Frontier Fund: May 28
Frontier is an advance market commitment to buy an initial $1B+ of permanent carbon removal between 2022 and 2030. It was founded by Stripe, Alphabet, Shopify, Meta, McKinsey and tens of thousands of businesses using Stripe Climate. For early-stage suppliers piloting new technologies, Frontier offers low-volume prepurchase agreements to accelerate development. Suppliers receive funds upfront, before tons have actually been delivered.
💸 The Innovation Prize — InnSure: May 30
A prize to support the creation of new insurance products and policies that fill gaps in the climate tech insurance market. The prize is backed by the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA), a public benefit corporation established in 1975, which works to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and emissions reduction across New York’s economy.

🐋 The Ocean Hope Project: Protecting the Deep Sea

The vast oceans surrounding us are a remarkable source of sustenance, prosperity, and vitality. They regulate our climate, nourish us, and support numerous industries. Yet, the oceans face increasing pressures from climate change, overfishing, and pollution. Now a new threat looms for the ocean. If allowed to go ahead, deep-sea mining will destroy this critical and awe-inspiring source of life. This talk explores the deep-sea, why we don't need to mine the ocean, and the growing global resistance to this new form of ecocide.

🎬 From Farm to Film: A Screening & Panel on Soil, Carbon, and Climate

Join the Ceres Food Film Festival and the Climate Film Festival at Rethink Food for an intimate evening focused on regenerative agriculture featuring a screening of the award-winning documentary short Grass Farmers (dir. Chad Galloway, 17 mins). This sumptuous, meditative film follows farmers restoring Canadian grasslands. A thought-provoking panel discussion with experts in the field of environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture will follow the screening. Panelists will explore the themes presented in the film and discuss practical ways to implement these approaches. The evening will feature upcycled light bites curated by Rethink Food’s culinary team and boutique Portuguese wine by NLC Wines.
❇️ Eco-Critical Spatial Practices in Art and Design

Through a panel discussion led by leading and emerging voices in the field, we will examine how critical spatial production is reshaping our understanding of environmental impact and its intersections. Our focus will be on eco-critical works that offer alternative activisms through shifting ecological and aesthetic responses to hegemonic power. These works challenge established norms and question the narratives around who has the authority to 'claim space,' fostering a dialogue on how visual culture can shape a more resilient and inclusive future. We will also gain a deeper understanding of spatial practices from a pluralistic perspective.
