NY Climate Tech: March 15 - March 22
Drinks at a Brooklyn marina, an Oceanic art exhibit, infrastructure talks, and more
Hi all,
Great to see everyone last Tuesday!
This week kicks off tomorrow with networking drinks in Brooklyn Bridge Park hosted by Estuary Bar and ONE15 Marina. On Thursday, head uptown to 1014 5th Ave for a talk on Oceans, Water, and Climate with Pete Malinowski from the Billion Oyster Project, Baerbel Hoensich from Columbia, and artist Doug Argue. Continue meeting the climate community next Tuesday, either at the Women & Climate Dinner or the OnDeck’s Climate meetup.
If you’re interested in electric planning and infrastructure, there are two events online that are worth checking out. The first is a session on NYC and electric vehicles, and the second is a seminar on expanding community solar. Finally, if you’re staying in on next Tuesday, you can dial in to the Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator Climate pitch night and find out more about the accelerator.
We have three jobs this week: Carbon Markets Engagement leader at GE Power, Engineering Manager at EnergyHub, and an Expert in Sustainability, Carbon Capture, and Storage at McKinsey. Reminder: if you want your jobs listed here, just reply to this email and I’m happy to put them in!

🚙 Monthly Forum - Is New York City Prepared for Electric Vehicles?
When: Wed, March 16, 2022 at 6:30 PM ET
RSVP: Free here
Last year, the Dept. of Transportation and the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Sustainability published a bold vision for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in NYC, projecting that 400,000 gasoline vehicles might be switching to EVs by 2030, which would go a long way in helping the City meet its climate decarbonization goals. Yet there were only about 1,573 chargers in all of NYC at the time of publication. We will explore the huge gap between the City’s bold projections, the existing charging infrastructure, and the proposed strategies to narrow the gap. We are excited to hear the perspectives of the City, the electric utility and a private company that relies on EV charging for their operations. Q&A will follow the presentations.
