NY Climate Tech: July 29 - Aug 4
Meetups, hackathons, techno-economic analyses, solar punk chamber music, and more upcoming events
Hi friends,
NYC is 99 degrees and power outages knocked out half of the subway lines in Manhattan during rush hour. 2025 has been a rough year, but the physics haven’t changed. We need to rebuild the infrastructure of the 20th-century for a 21st-century world.
We may have lost some momentum this year, but it’s more important than ever to work on climate. And while the work is hard, this community makes the load feel lighter. I’m constantly amazed and humbled by the passion and talent of the people I meet here.
If you’re feeling the heat, here are some places to stay cool:
Today take action at the ⏰ Manhattan Climate Changemakers Hour of Action, or get building at the 🌎 International Relations x Climate Hackathon
Thursday, to learn how to test the economic viability of your path to market with techno-economic analysis (TEA) at the 📈 Live TEA Demonstration & Gathering
Or cool down with 🍻 July Climate Pints at Prime Produce, also on Thursday
Sunday, take a boat to Governor’s Island and the Climate Imaginarium for the 🎶 This Sun-Breathing Earth: Chamber Music Concert, followed by a Solarpunk Workshop
Always,
— Alec, Sonam, and the Climate Tech Cities team
