NY Climate Tech: Dec 6 - Dec 12
Clean Energy Fellowships, TechStar Demo Day, and a Climate Fiction Newsletter
Hi all,
There’s really only one day that matters this week, and it’s Thursday, with four of the events in the newsletter. They mostly don’t overlap, so if you’re feeling ambitious you can have your own little climate tech holiday: start by Zooming into a UK panel on tech workers and climate change, head over to Javits for a real estate conference with sessions on sustainability, pop out for lunch to dial into the TechStars demo day, and wrap it all up with a happy hour where you can learn more about how to apply for the Clean Energy Leadership Institute’s 2022 fellowship.
The one event outside of the Thursday vortex is the launch of Flourish Fiction. Flourish Fiction is a new project started by some of my colleagues from the OnDeck Climate Fellowship. Their mission is to create and share hopeful stories that awaken imagination and help inspire the next generation of climate solutions. They launch this Friday, and you can sign up for their Substack here.

We need more hopeful stories to awaken imagination and help inspire the next generation of climate solutions.
That’s why members of the On Deck Climate Tech fellowship started the Flourish Fiction collective. They saw an opportunity to bring together writers with diverse knowledge of climate solutions to share hopeful visions for the future in the form of short stories.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate the launch of Flourish Fiction and the publication of the first 3 climate fiction stories on
At the launch party, you will:
Learn about the ideas, experiences, and writing processes behind the first 3 stories
Meet a community of writers interested in climate solutions
Learn about Flourish Fiction's writing workshops and editing process and how you can get involved
